Sliced Peach
7:30:PM-11:00:PM
![]()
2006 is set to be peach-tastic! The year has started with a critically acclaimed E.P release ‘Sliced Peach’ and a full programme of festivals and venues already booked.
Drew, Leigh, Dom and Ed perform original guitar driven power-pop. Their infectious melodies and heart felt lyrics melt in your mouth like a packet of prawn cocktail Skips. Influences come far and wide, from The Beach Boys to New Found Glory, The Beatles to Ash.
When not performing to a packed audience of ‘peach-aholics’ the ‘Peaches’ can be found practising in their own purpose built studio. Over the past year the band have gone from strength to strength, here are just a few of their achievements:
Endorsed by the global clothing label ‘Atticus’
Featured band at Radio 1’s One Music Liverpool Showcase
Featured band on Best of Bristol CD ‘Bristol Rocks’
Headlining the John Lennon Imagine Appeal charity gig at Liverpool’s Barfly.

Century Man + Support
9:00:PM-1:00:AM
CENTURY MAN - Cheltenham’s finest indie rock band are set to rapidly expand their fan base around the UK and beyond... The four piece line-up with front man Craig Fish, guitarist Ben Zakotti, bassist Dean McClymont and drummer Rob Hayes continue to pump out an exciting energetic style of ‘retro indie rock’ generating a growing following wherever they play.
Sighting major influences as classic British rock such as the Beatles and Stones their exhilarating performances simply get better and better with their punchy riffs and catchy melodies guaranteeing an enthusiastic response.
Their latest demo just cannot compare to their live performance - onstage is where these guys are really in their element!
Since their formation in late 2003 Century Man have performed over a dozen live shows - supporting major acts (the Fun Lovin’ Criminals) winning the Battle of the Bands and live radio sessions - they continue to write and record new material and are planning further gig dates for 2005...

Take The 5th
an appreciation of
The Clash
“Take the 5th” take their name from the title given by The Clash to their 1979 US tour.
What you get are 30 or so songs written by The Clash, performed with power, conviction and accuracy. There is no attempt to impersonate, what would be the point of that? The Clash did it right first time. Having said that their music deserves to be heard live. Any day, every town.
2 hours of some of the greatest songs ever written are set against a backdrop of original images and archive video of Joe and the boys
Take The 5th have been gigging for years, but first and foremost they are Clash fans. The blend of rock and reggae recaptures the unique mood of the most vibrant of times.

Fred Zeppilin
8:00:PM-3:00:AM
Fred Zeppilin
In Christmas 2004 we were among the top ten best live bands to see, according to Kerrangs readers poll. We think it’s quite an achievement, as we were the only tribute band listed in any category.
July 2004 Fred Zeppelin were invited by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page to attend The Embassy Club, Mayfair, London to pick up a certificate of thanks. They were presented with the award by Jimmy’s wife Jimena for helping to raise money for The ABC Trust, a charity of which Jimmy is a patron. Kev (bass) and Blackie (drums) attended and were thrilled to meet and chat with the legendary guitarist. Also at the party were Roger Daltrey, Julian Lloyd Webber, Leo Sayer and Formula One’s David Coultard. What a night !!
During their time together Fred Zeppelin have had the honour of Led Zeppelin’s Front-man Robert Plant attending three of their gigs, something the band are very proud of. It must surely be the best recommendation any ban could receive, and also assure any Led Zeppelin fans who are apprehensive about seeing The Fredz.
It may be worth taking a camera to a gig as you don’t know who will be standing next to you.
Other distinguished guests include John Bonham’s son Jason (who jammed with them on stage), MAGNUM’s front-man Bob Catley, and WHITESNAKE’s guitarist Mel Galley, who attended on recommendation - “Thought I would come and see you, as Robert (Plant) said you were brilliant”. Roy Wood was the latest rock celebrity to experience a two-hour Fred Zeppelin gig.
Among their achievements so far, the band have been featured on Central Television, performed to a crowd of 15,000 people at Derby’s out-door Rock’n’Blues Festival, and played a cameo roll in a Film called ‘Large’ released in October 2001 (now available in all good bargain bins at your local superstore!).
The four members of Fred Zeppelin are real fans, and formed ‘The Freds’ out of their admiration and love of Led Zeppelin’s music. As their name suggests the band do not take themselves too seriously, they know the praise belongs to Robert, Jimmy, John Paul Jones, and Bonzo.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Balack Sabbath Tribute
8:00:PM-7:55:AM
"The very first incarnation of what was to become Sabbath Bloody Sabbath got together in 1997, with Pete on guitar and Mark on bass. There then followed a revolving door period of musicians to rival 90's Black Sabbath themselves, soon settling on a line-up of Pete, Mark, Ashley on vocals and Rob on drums. Once the band started gigging regularly, they garnered an impressive reputation and gained a loyal following of fans.
In 1999, Rob left the band in order to go to into further education and Pete left for reasons best known to himself...but Sabbath Bloody Sabbath carried on with (a different) Rob on guitar and Slack on drums, however, early in 2003 the original line-up reformed, much like Black Sabbath's vaunted 'Reunion' in 1999, heralding a return to the sound of the early years of Sabbath. In 2004, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath took some time out, and in March 2005 regrouped, with new a bassist, Grant.
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath plays material exclusively from the ‘Ozzy-era’(1969-1979) i.e. the first eight albums.
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath has played venues all over England and Wales, occasionally venturing into Scotland and Ireland, and has never failed to get an audience up and on its feet. They have also played gigs with bands such as Motörhead, Blaze (Blaze Bailey, Ex-Iron Maiden), and M3 (Classic Whitesnake). The band's major strength lies in its live performance, and the songs are always performed accurately, with energy and attitude."

Stipe - R.E.M Tribute (Unreal)
8:00:PM-7:55:AM
Stipe - R.E.M Tribute (Unreal)
The definitive REM tribute.
Stipe have been around since 1996. The first line-up was formed by Rick Southern and gigged mainly in the North of England and Scotland. Over the next few years Rick also fronted Midlands based "Monster" playing many gigs throughout the U.K and Europe, honing and perfecting Michael Stipe's very individual stage persona.
It was with "Monster" that Rick met Stipe keyboard player Pete. The new line-up of Stipe was completed in September 2002.
Rick Southern - Vocals
Pete Nicholls - Keyboards / acoustic guitar
Tony Williams - Bass / acoustic guitar / backing vocals
Paul Tonge - Guitar / mandolin / backing vocals
Nick Peters - Drums / percussion
This line-up brought together over thirty years of gigging experience of five talented and experienced musicians.
The Gigs
Since their debut on January 1st 2003 at the Limelight Club in Crewe, the band have played everything from small clubs to large festivals all across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The vast majority of venues hosting the band have asked for a return booking.
Highlights include :-
· Gigs in Ireland taking in Dublin, Donegal, Galway and Limerick.
· A headline slot at the Arts in the Park festival, Blackburn.
· A hugely successful appearance at Liverpool's Mathew Street Festival
· Release of a self-penned CD single "(Need to) Breathe"
· Prominently featured in Bang! magazine's tribute article - “an R.E.M. fan's wet dream”
The Fans
R.E.M. fans say really great things about Stipe. Fan sites like murmurs.com and myrem.com contain many threads about the band. Here are some quotes, taken from pages which can be accessed via the Reviews section of the website.
"arguably better than the live performance by REM themselves(dare I say that?)"
"My advice to you – If you hear Stipe are playing a gig near you then drop everything and go and see them."
"Stipe's outstanding performance of R.E.M. music is second to none, not to be missed"
The Future
Stipe have over sixty R.E.M songs in their repertoire. The list is continuing to grow. Just like R.E.M, this enables the band to change their set considerably and keeps everything sounding fresh.
A tour is being arranged to coincide with R.E.M's own in 2005.
There are many tribute bands that claim to be "the ultimate" or "the U.K’s No.1".
Stipe take this to another level; off-stage, down-to-earth and approachable - on-stage enthusiasm and energy make compelling viewing, maintaining the essence that is R.E.M.
Stipe ARE the definitive R.E.M. tribute.

Stipe ARE the definitive R.E.M. tribute.

Chucky No Stars > Waving at Strangers (US) + Support
9:00:PM-11:00:PM

Forming in the Autumn of 2004, Chucky No Stars are a fresh approach to the Christian music scene. Refusing to be thrown into stereotypes which a lot of religious music follows, Chucky No Stars are dragging catchy lyrics and vocals over a hot and spicy layer of keyboard and guitar driven pop punk.
Starting off instantly with a bang after scooping together three ex-members of UK ska/punk outfit, ninepoundnote - an already successful and experienced touring band, Chucky No Stars have quickly found their feet as a professional and highly talented band whilst still staying in the teenage age brackets (well, if you include the taboo age of twenteen!).
The guys motivation is second to none. Always ready to get the party started and loaded up to journey across the land with their truly inspirational efforts for their close-to-heart religion.
Whether you lean towards the safety of the mainstream or the musical mayhem of punk rock, Chucky No Stars are here for all ages, races, and backgrounds - with a great message to tell. www.chuckynostars.com

Waving at Strangers is a Pop-Punk/Indie Rock outfit from Atlanta, GA. They have been on the road since mid-August touring the east and west coasts.
Currently in Southern California.
The band has opened for a plethora of national acts (Lucky Boys Confusion, Less than Jake, Saves the Day, Hot Hot Heat, Left Front Tire, Cool Hand Luke, Ace Trouble Shooter, 7-10 Split, Norma Jean, Pacifico, Army of Freshman, A Flock of Seagulls, Vaux, Bleach, Number One Gun) in both Atlanta and Southern California.
Waving at Strangers have built a incredible following across the United States, independently selling over 2000 copies of their Aimeeland album since it's release on August 18, 2004. Not to mention they are absolutely amazing in concert. www.wavingatstrangers.com

Neville Staple + Ska'd
This is a ticketed event please call the bar on 01452 503695 for details...
The lead singer from The Specials and one of the founder members of Fun Boy 3.
Best known for his work writing & composing, the lead singer from The Specials, and as one of the founding members of Fun Boy 3, Neville Staple is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice.
Neville's biography and past projects read like a who's who of rock. He has worked with such legends as Elvis Costello (The Specials 1979 – Chrysalis Records), David Byrne (Fun Boy 3 Waiting 1983 – Chrysalis Records), and Ali Campbell (Today's Specials 1996 - Kuff Records/Virgin), to name only a few.
His talents are found on the unique tribute album, Searching For Jimi Hendrix (1999 - Capitol Records) a project that Neville is personally quite proud of. In addition to having recorded with some of rock's most famous, he has also shared the stage with such icons as Ranking Roger (The Beat) forming Special Beat. Although this line-up never actually recorded an album they successfully toured the U.S. with Sting and Steel Pulse, which ultimately lead up to their own headline tour.

Take the 5th - Clash Tribute
9:00:PM-1:00:AM

The Beat -
After the split of 80's ska band The Beat, Everett, Saxa and Ranking Roger worked on many other projects.
Ranking Roger and Saxa along with original Beat singer Dave Wakeling formed General public with former Dexy's Midnight Runners keyboardist Micky Billingham. General Public split in 1986 and 1988 saw the release of the solo album Radical Departure by Ranking Roger. He then went on to form another ska outfit, Special Beat. In 1988 Everett and Saxa became part of the International Beat along with Neil Deathridge and regular guest appearances by Ranking Roger and Micky Billingham.
The International Beat enjoyed success both in the UK and in the USA. After the split of the International Beat in 1992, Neil met songwriter Tony O'Donnell and they performed together at many venues throughout the UK.
Finally in 2001, Ranking Roger, Everett, Saxa and Neil got together again along with Tony O'Donnell and Andy Pearson who had previously worked with Roger.
After The Beat reunion gig at London's Royal Festival Hall the band were joined by Dave "Blockhead" Wright on keyboards.
Everett Morton (drums) Ranking Roger (vocals) Saxa (saxaphone) Blockhead (keyboards) Neil Deathridge (guitar) Tony O'Donnell (vocals) and Andy Pearson (bass).

The Holloh > Sideways Glance > Casual Complex & Red Eye Flyers
9:00:PM-11:00:PM
The Holloh are making their mark; with blends of Garage Rock, Emo, Nu-Blues and Dirty punk.
As always, the band are passionate and eager to perform...
Sideways Glance : Are a 5 piece Indie band, with blues influenced Lead Guitar (Elison), Soul Bass work (Winst), Acoustic rhythm guitar (Wangy), ultra tight drumming (Wosky) and heartfelt songwriting and vocals (Paul), they pride themselves on great songs and great musicianship, and they tend to like to show the fun making music can really be. With 2 albums already under their belt and a new lineup change, SG have rocked into 2005 and are looking to rock a bit more. Make sure you're there to take part.
Since their formation in spring 2000, Sideways Glance have always surprised and delighted crowds with their original blend of guitar-based rock/pop. Compared to The Bluetones, REM, The Wedding Present and The White Stripes and with diverse personal influences ranging from Indie to Classical, the band’s sound is uniquely its own.
Songwriting duo Paul and Wangy constantly push creative boundaries and, combined with Elison’s unmistakable catchy riffs and inspired solos and Wosky's equally passionate drumming, the product is of rare quality. Hailing from Worcester, the band gig regularly in the Worcester/Birmingham area and consistently woo audiences with the depth, variety and downright enjoyability of their songs. The future clearly holds great things for Sideways Glance who, as the songs plainly show, approach music with the necessary combination of determination to achieve what they know they can and a genuine love of writing and playing songs. Consequently, their potential and ambition are limitless.'
Casual Complex are 5 peice Progressive Rock band from Cirencester. The band relies on a entertaing live show and their shameless musicality, producing quite a unique experience. Strongly infuenced by bands such as 'The Mars Volta', 'Led Zeppelin' and 'Tool', they try to capture an energy often lacked by many other bands these days... definatly one to watch!!!

CHAS 'N' DAVE
BIOGRAPHY
Over the years, Chas 'n' Dave have become synonymous with beer, boots, braces, parties, massive hit records and generally having a good time! But how did it all start?
Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock come from Edmonton and Ponders End respectively, and first met up in North London in the mid-sixties through a mutual friend. The circumstances were originally nothing to do with music………
Chas was renowned in his younger years for always missing the last bus home due to the seriousness of his courting activities to the girl he eventually married. A regular mate of Chas, called Brian Juniper, would frequently take pity on this solitary figure wandering through the streets in the early hours and offer the lad a lift home. There was usually another bloke sitting in the car and his name was Dave Peacock. When talk came 'round to music', Chas and Dave were instantly in agreement and a firm friendship was established.
At the time, Chas was playing with Mike Berry and the Outlaws. They had the honour of headlining over a very unknown band from Liverpool called The Beatles…
Although the two men were constantly meeting, it never occurred to them to play together as both of them preferred the guitar. What really spurred them on was that when they met over a jar, they would find themselves expressing dissatisfaction with the pop scene of the early seventies - the big superstar groups with phoney American accents playing pretentious music.
Chas and Dave wanted to go back to their Rock 'n' Roll roots, and sing in their own accents about subjects which they cared about.
Everyone told them that it would never work, but Chas and Dave started to play gigs in pubs like 'The Prince of Wales' in Gravesend, 'The Essex Arms' in the East End and 'The Cooks Ferry' at Edmonton. At these, their first public appearances, Chas played the guitar and Dave the bass. They built up a good London following and impressed session guitarist Big Jim Sullivan who owned Retreat Records with Derek Lawrence. He offered them the chance to record their own material.
The result was the album 'One Fing and Anuvver' which was released in 1975 and which so impressed the distributors EMI, that they signed them up immediately.
At this moment in Chas and Dave's history, an important figure re-entered their lives. To this day, few people can name him, yet he is vital to their sound. Who is this retiring man?
His name is Micky Burt - the drummer with Chas and Dave. Mick used to be the drummer in Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers when Chas was with them. Mick had since left and gone back to his original profession as a plumber.
Chas phoned him up out of the blue one day, and asked him to drop tools and give it a go playing for them. Chas couldn't promise Mick it would work, but we all know that it could never have failed - and so did Mick.
Rockney had been born - the unique blend of cockney and rock which was so soon to capture the people's imagination and thrust Chas and Dave into the limelight.
What aided the process was a chance encounter with an advertising agency executive who just happened to be at a pub in Islington when Chas and Dave were playing 'Gertcha'. He thought the song was perfect for the new Courage Beer campaign, and really the rest is history. 'Gertcha' became a nation-wide catchphrase and Chas and Dave songs like 'Margate' and 'Rabbit' ensured that the campaign was one of the most consistent award-winning commercials on television.
From a struggling band who used to fear an unexpected ring at the door in case it was the bailiffs, who had to argue with record companies who told them that their music would never sell, who used to tour the UK and Europe in a Mini, Chas and Dave had achieved the status they deserved.
A string of hit singles in the Eighties, including their No 1 hit 'Ain't No Pleasing You', together with million selling party albums and TV series galore firmly established them as a unique act with a dedicated following of fans. Songs like 'Gertcha' and 'Rabbit' have become national sing-a-long party hits, and Chas and Dave have become part of our culture, London icons. Their fans have grown up with them and Chas and Dave tour theatres in England and around the world.
In the 1990s, they were discovered by a whole new generation of fans. In the Spring of 1995, they scored a No 3 album with 'Chas & Dave's Street Party'. They were regular guests on Brian Conley's, Garry Bushell's and Danny Baker's radio and television shows, and the BBC followed them around on tour and presented documentaries based on their lives on the road. They ended the Century with a string of fantastic guest TV spots ('Never Mind the Buzzcocks', 'Jools Holland', and loads more), sell-out London Palladium shows and with ever growing support from their world-wide fan base.
Into the Millennium, they continue to record new material, play to sell-out theatre audiences, and somehow still retain their cockney roots despite being in demand world-wide. During their recent tour in the USA, two albums were released and fantastically received by radio stations and punters alike. Again, Chas n Dave stormed sell-out gigs wherever they went ..a habit they don't seem to be able to break!
THERE IS NO PRETENCE ABOUT IT - CHAS & DAVE ARE SIMPLY UNIQUE

Edward Tudor Pole + Ska'd + Skatanic
9:00:PM-1:00:AM
Edward Tudor Pole of Ten Pole Tudor/Crystal Maze/Sex Pistols + Ska'd + Skatanic

RADA trained Edward Tudor Pole briefly joined the Sex Pistols (Who killed Bambi? and 'The Great Rock n Roll Swindle') before fronting his own band 'TenPole Tudor', with whom he had hits with '3 Bells in a Row', 'Swords of 1000 Men', 'Wunderbar' and 'Throwing my baby out with the Bath Water'. Probably best known for his appearances in 'The Crystal Maze' and on Top of The Pops, Ed has appeared in numerous films and plays, including The Rocky Horror Show, The Great Rock and Roll Swindle with The Sex Pistols, White Hunter, Black Heart with Clint Eastwood and more recently as Mr. Borgin in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and 'The Life and Death of Peter Sellers' in which he plays Spike Milligan.
His acoustic show has to be seen to be believed. Ageing punks and new fans attracted by his TV and film roles are treated to a mix of punk, country and pure rock'n'roll. Each of his catchy tunes pays tribute to a variety of stars. Standard punk anthems stand side by side with influences as diverse as Status Quo, Freddie Mercury, Tammy Wynette and Shakin' Stevens.
Some people were just born to be stars. There just seems to be something about them - the way they talk, the way they carry themselves, the way their battered lives intigue us. Ed is mad, but deinitely not sad.

GBH
The influential, long-lived punk metal band G.B.H. rose to prominance in England during the early '80s when hardcore punk began inching toward heavy metal. Originally formed in 1979 in Birmingham , England , G.B.H. initially called itself Charged G.B.H. to differentiate itself from another band called G.B.H. The leather-clad, hair-spiked foursome began recording for the Clay label in the early '80s, releasing some singles before unleashing its influential debut album, City Baby Attacked By Rats, in 1982. City Baby's Revenge followed two years later in 1984, by which time the band had become one of the leading punk metal bands of the era. G.B.H. continued recording and releasing albums throughout the '80s, though its influence progressively waned as a new wave of bands such as Slayer emerged and pushed punk metal toward what became known as speed metal and, in turn, thrash. Despite its waning influence, G.B.H. soldiered on, recording new albums throughout the '90s and into the next millenium. By this point the band was often cited by both metal and punk bands as a huge influence, and a renewed interest in G.B.H.'s early recordings resulted. http://www.njhindl.demon.co.uk/gbh

KERRANG! Magazine (October 2003)
Impressive non-corporate rock with brains and balls.
When UK bands tire of of the endless succesion of lightweight pseudo-punk bands spewed out by the US, they inevitably turn to heavier, more substantial things. Things like this in fact.
The More I See have built themselves a sizeable following in Europe and the 5 tracks on this mini-CD explain why. With one foot in anthemic popcore and the other in Anthrax-style, melodic metal, this is a refreshing and adventurous antidote to corporate banality and meaningless., radio-friendly non-rock. Three of these songs were recorded by Andy Sneap - not a man to waste his time with also-rans - and, as a result, they sound far classier than the lowly, self-financed nature of this venture would suggest.

If Only > AmoraPloy > Aisha + Support
AmoraPloy formally[Alcoholicspider], are a 4 piece (3 vocals, 2 guitars, keys, bass, samples and drums) from Bristol, who have been together for 3 years and have played all the major venues around Bristol and Bath. Their 7 track EP features huge sweeping soundscapes contrasted with spasmodic bursts of energy, finished with climatic endings which rocksound magazine described as having an “abundance of potential”. This really comes to life when the band performs their set live along with numerous erratic dance-like gestures.
AmoraPloy are currently working on new material for their 2nd EP.

Twisted Wings > Ballroom Disaster + Carmen
www.twistedwings.tk
Ballroom Disaster from Wiltshire are a Rock n Roll band playing such greats as ‘Knocking on Heavens Door’ and ‘Hey Hey My My’, with songs from Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Oasis, as well as original material. Hard rock power, over the fusion of creative and unique rhythms, killer riffs and bass grooves, moving and powerful lyrics. Sonic beauty is the order of the day - creative, dynamic, and melodic rock n roll.
Madame Butterfly were formed towards the end of November last year (though we’d known each other several years) for a charity CD in aid of Ugandan schoolgirls. We wrote a song in a night, performed it the next day and bang, we had our first song. Since then, we’ve been collaborating to write new material, and to practice covers (our biggest influence being Queen and, to some extent, the genre of power metal, though we now describe ourselves as ‘camp, classical rock’). We’re all musicians in our own right, and have among us a Grade 8 pianist, an amateur film score composer, a stunningly technical guitarist and… me. I’ve sung with several drama groups (including, at one brief, regrettable point, the Young GODS) and am currently getting vocal coaching from Jayl, one of Gloucester’s most-respected musicians.

Cobalt Blue are currently looking for as many gigs as possible, and hopefully will be recording an EP in the near future. www.cobaltblue.tk

Energetic, punky riffs delivered through metal guitars are backed up with a range of beats from old school thrash to modern power grooves. Bored of the same, formulaic "we made a punk band" bollocks? The Beat -
After the split of 80's ska band The Beat, Everett, Saxa and Ranking Roger worked on many other projects.
Performing a mix of their own compositions and original Beat songs The Beat are currently enjoying success at their live gigs in the UK. www.twistandcrawl.com

They've recorded a three track demo at The Old Smithy Studios in Worcester, have played locally, and are now looking to gig more widely. www.raindogs.org
